When there is a strong desire to succeed and to contribute to the family or a business, self-care is often the first thing to go. It is important to prioritize exercise, nutrition, and total down-time to maximize efficiency and avoid stress-related health conditions.

  • Exercise is a proven method of reducing stress simply due to the physical release of the tension held in the body. When the body is physically stressed by healthy exercise, there is a natural improvement in sleep, as well, which is necessary for optimal regeneration on every level.
  • Taking a few hours on the weekend to prepare healthy meals and snacks ahead of time sets the tone for a nutrition-filled week. Food preparation is a great method of ending the battle of the bulge, as well as a reliance on fast-food and take-out.
